Program TD1208

by leosw Wed Apr 06, 2016 10:17 am

Hello,

I'm interested of the way to program the CPU inside TD1208 without using the EVB for production purposes.
Does I need to program it using RXD and TXD using RS232 link ?
OR The correct way is to use the SWD interface in DB2 and DB3 ?
Does I need any specific programer if I use the second way ?

Hi,

Correct way is SWD interface via DB2/DB3. You can use any SWD programmer. We recommend the very cheap silabs starter kits (EFM32TG-STK3300 for example).

Ok, so simple question.

With the the Eval Kit, is there a included way to program the EFM32 CPU ?
Or I need to buy separately the programmer ?

I've just received the kit and there is no SWD programmer. Only the FTDI link, so I'm still trying to program using ST-LINK V2 with no success yet.

Sorry I misunderstood your question... Serial upgrade is indeed not always working fine. You can get the silabs SWD programmer on digikey (http://www.digikey.fr/product-search/fr ... ds=STK3300).

Ok, I'll find a solution.

Actually for me the reason to use TD1208 is the availibility of the CPU inside, so of course I'll use the SDK and programmer to program it. Else I bought the TD1207.
