Intel Edison

Hi,

I want to stream data from my sensor to my dashboard via Sigfox here in the UK. Arquiva holds the license.

I have an Intel® Edison and Arduino Breakout Kit https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13097

Intel Edison Architecture
Intel® Atom™ dual-core processor at 500 MHz
1 GB DDR3 RAM, 4 GB eMMC Flash
Bluetooth* 4.0, Wi-Fi*
Yocto Project*, Brillo*
Arduino* compatible
C/C++, Python*, Node.js*, HTML5, JavaScript*

I do not want to buy the Akene v1 + Connectivity 1 year because it is too pricey at 90 euros. http://snootlab.com/shields-snootlab/889-.html

I am told I only need to purchase a Modem TD1208 + Connectivity 1 year. http://snootlab.com/lang-en/snootlab-shields/890-modem-td1208-connectivity-1-year-en.html

    Why would one purchase connectivity via snootlab if they are in the UK?
    How will I connect the Modem to the Edison/Arduino board?

Many thanks,
m
