DL management

by francois Tue Sep 08, 2015 8:46 am

Hi
I understand that DL is only manage using acknowledgement procedure (4 msg max per day).
But what is not clear to me is the number of bytes that we can sent in a DL msg.
Is it limited to 12 bytes per message ?
Regards

The up message (product to backend) is 12 bytes. The down message (backend to product) is 8 bytes.

Hi François,

What do you mean exactly? Yes,we have access to the Sigfox specification, if this is what you mean.

The downlink communication is using a different modulation from uplink: GFSK @ 600bps vs. BPSK @ 100bps, wit ha completely different frame format and RF characteristics, thus the difference in payload size.

The 12 byte payload uplink and 8 byte payload downlink limitations are inherent to the UNB (Ultra-Narrow Band) technology of the Sigfox network and cannot be increased.
